Today, in his first major vote as an incoming member of the U.S. House of Representatives, John Adler is expected to support Henry Waxman (D-Calif.) for Chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, according to sources with close ties to Camden County Democrat. Waxman is challenging longtime chairman John Dingell, an 82-year-old Michigan Democrat who has served in Congress since 1955.
Of the other seven Democratic Congressmen from New Jersey, only Rob Andrews is a solid Dingell vote. Sources say that Frank Pallone, Albio Sires and Rush Holt have committed to vote for Waxman, and that Bill Pascrell and Donald Payne may be leaning that way. No word on the intentions of Steve Rothman.

Showing your true colors
Good work John. Even before you are sworn into office, you have clearly demonstrated that you will align yourself with the most liberal member of Congress. Keep up the good work on what will be a short career.
Just an observation
John Adler's first important vote as a Member of Congress puts him on the opposite side of his fellow Camden County Democrat, Rob Andrews. Andrews, part of John Dingell's whip team, was unable to deliver a freshman Congressman from his home county.
the oc
So apparently the oc opposes more stringent mileage standards on cars and other important energy improvements. Keep living in the 20th century.
Keep Dingell
The auto industry definitely needs a voice right now.
Keep regurgitating
Keep regurgitating the liberal party line. Adler has aligned himself with Waxman - an unapologetic member of the progressive caucus who supports deep cuts in military spending, gleefully supports increased spending on failed domestic programs, encourages desecration of the American flag, discourages protecting the pledge of allegiance, refuses to end affirmative action policies in accepting college students, supports legalized marijuana for medical purposes, opposes strengthening our borders to stop drug trafficking, opposes giving federal aid to schools who voluntarily allow school prayer, votes against new oil refineries and subsidies for oil exploration, opposes the permanent reduction/elimination of the marriage penalty and child tax credit, and continually votes against our troops through our defense budget - just to name a few. Yeah - that is someone who we all should support. Good job John. Way to "represent us." The only people he is representing are the fringe of his party like Alice and liberal oc. Talk about 20th Century thinking.
Haha
Don't forget the 52% of NJ-3 who voted for him. This is too easy. And almost every one of the things you listed is a good measure that we help our country.
Thank you
for confirming you are a far left wacko. Opposing the marriage penalty reduction is good for our country? Opposing keeping the child tax credit is good for our country? Reducing our military capability is good for our country? It is good for the 3rd district? Hey dumbass, two military bases closing and Lockheed closing are not good for the district. What a complete waste you are. Adler was elected based on his rhetoric that he was a moderate in the mold of Jim Saxton who would reach across party lines and represent the people of the 3rd. His vote for Waxman shows he is nothing but a left wing liberal who would rather see our military suffer, taxpayers robbed, and businesses shut down all in the name of progressive politics. Enjoy the one term John.
Well Then..
Adler is doing exactly what he said he would do in his campaign: fighting for energy independence.
It's too bad that you don't understand that so many of America's problems (Iraq, reliance on enemies for oil, the environmental crisis, and the collapse of Detroit) stem from our reliance on oil.
Stop trying to fix the world by keeping it the same. Too many things suck in this day and age (economy, war, pollution, to name a few). People like John Adler are around to move things forward.
The only thing
The only thing sucking is you. You are sucking in valuable air which could be used for others who have already seen these failed policies cripple our military, steal our money in the form of higher taxes, and deny individuals the ability use their money - and property as they deem fit. Guess the Declaration of Independence means nothing to you. Adler said he would fight for the middle class and be a moderate. He is doing neither. Thank you for not only confirming you are a liberal wacko, but for confirming you are a dumbass as well.
the oc
Liberal wackco?
Is that all you say?
Ingnorant Critics like you who claim voting for a man who will lead us away from the dependence of foreign oil is a bad thing.
Let me Guess,
You voted for Bush, supported the war, support the most conservative person around, regardless of their intelligence or judgement and that critisize John Adler.
You have proved yourself the dumbass and that you have been living under a rock for the last 10 years.
You will critisize anything adler does regardless of how much it helps America. Thanks for your inpput dumbass
O and stop crying over spilled milk
We won't see myers in washington anytime soon
Who is the dumbass?
Who is the dumbass? When you learn to spell "criticize",then you can call someone else a dumbass. Until then, either invest in spell check or consult a dictionary before using such big SAT words. And yes - I would call someone who supports a 25% reduction in our military spending, refuses to support the elimination of the marriage penalty, refuses to continue the child tax credit, advocates burning the American flag, and opposes strengthening our borders a "liberal wacko." If you don't like it too bad. Adler claimed he was going to be "mainstream" and "moderate" during the election. His first vote proves otherwise. Enjoy the one term John. And winmyvote - congrats on joining Team Dumbass.
the oc
As i recall you claimed myers would win the election for NJ-3. Nice pick on that one.
It is pretty obvious people like you will CRITICIZE anything a democrat does. No matter who John Adler voted for, you would have said it was a mistake. Oh unless he chose the most right-wing member of congress. Congrats on being able to repeat the word dumbass over and over again. Why don't you tell the 52% of NJ-3 who voted for Adler that they are apart of the team.
Not true dumbass
That is not true dumbass. You must be new here. I have said complimentary things about Rob Andrews, Bill Bradley, Jane Harman, and Barney Frank's intelligence (not his politics) in the past just to name a few. And I have been as critical of Republicans on this board too. So before you go around spewing crap get the facts straight dumbass. Congrats on being the biggest dumbass on this board. Think I can use dumbass a few more times when describing you? You make it so easy. The 52% who voted for Adler believed his rhetoric - I am a moderate and mainstream. Waxman is not moderate or mainstream. He is the far left fringe of your party dumbass. Adler would rather lie in bed with the wacko liberals than vote with the district. Had he voted for Dingell, I would not have said a word so please speak for yourself and not others - and when you do - LEARN TO SPELL DUMBASS!!!
