A Zogby International /William J. Hughes Center for Public Policy at Richard Stockton College poll showing Rob Andrews with a 37%-28% lead over Frank Lautenberg is wonderful news for the 84-year-old incumbent: the poll included only Democratic primary voters for Andrews’ South Jersey base. Pundits suggest that Andrews would need to come out of South Jersey with closer to 60% of the vote if he has any hope of ousting Lautenberg in the June 3 primary.
Morristown Mayor Donald Cresitello has 4% of the vote in South Jersey. Both Lautenberg and Andrews lead the three Republican U.S. Senate candidates in general election matchups.
In Camden and Gloucester counties, which Andrews has represented in Congress since 1990, he leads Lautenberg by a 58%-15% margin. But Lautenberg is ahead in a region that included Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland and Ocean counties, 39%-14%.

Seniors voting for Frank.
Frank has maintained a strong advantage over Andrews among seniors in "Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland and Ocean counties." The only hope is to ban smoking in AC casinos, which would force seniors to move out and give an advantage to Andrews.
Primaries are in six weeks though.
GOTV
I'm a little suspicious of polls in a primary where turnout isn't going to be very high.
I think the Norcross machine will turn out its votes for Andrews, but some of these "likely" FL voters probably won't make it to the polls on Primary Day.
still slanted
you know, once again, you have subtle ways of showing your slant against FL, mr. edge. you call FL the 84 year old incumbent, but dont call Andrews the 50 year old congressman or Cresitello the however old mayor. if andrews says the voters should decide if FL's age is an issue you should do the same WALLY. i'm tired of reading your posts and seeing a constant bias towards Andrews.
I'll second that
Enough said
Andrews needs to stop fighting in court
and get going on the ground. I wonder if he's id'd all those Barack folks.....
I don't know if Obama supporters will back Andrews
due to the Iraq War issue - which Andrews needs to make a non issue by saying "It doesn't matter how we got there, the fact remains we are there and I want to get us out." Andrews also comes from the "establishment" of South Jersey - so no real "outsider" potential like Obama had in the beginning. If there is evidence otherwise - I'd like to see it.
Miscal
Andrews running was a miscalculation. He does not have an impressive Congressional record and is not as liked as he thinks. I bet that it is only a matter of time before Andrews frustrations start to show on the campaign trail. I would hope that this could be a sign to come that the Norcross Organization becomes dismantled and it takes all the former good men that have joined with it.
