Today 14th District State Assembly Candidates Tom Goodwin (Hamilton) and Adam Bushman (Jamesburg) called on Linda Greenstein to distance herself from dishonest claims by her running mate, Seema Singh (Monmouth Junction), who is running for State Senate on Greenstein’s ticket and is currently the target of a State Ethics Investigation.
On Saturday, Singh claimed to have the support of the Communications Workers of America Local 1039, but the Communications Workers of America voted so support Singh’s opponent, Bill Baroni, on May 4th.
Goodwin said that Greenstein should stand up against dishonesty on her ticket.
“It is especially disturbing that Linda Greenstein, knowing that Seema Singh was under investigation by the State Ethics Commission, still picked her as the person she thought should represent us in the State Senate,” said Goodwin. “Now it has gone too far—Linda Greenstein should distance herself from Singh’s dishonesty, even if it is on her own ticket.”
Bushman called on Greenstein to reject Singh’s claims.
“It is important to the voters that they can have confidence in their elected officials and what they tell their constituents,” said Bushman. “It troubling that Linda Greenstein not only hand picked someone who is the target of a State Ethics Investigation as the person she thought would best serve the 14th District—but with report after report of pension abuses, abuse of taxpayer funds for her to have a ‘chauffer’, and now dishonesty on her ticket, its time for Greenstein to let the voters know where she really stands.”
According to the South Brunswick Post, Singh was "drafted as a candidate by her running mate, Assemblywoman Linda Greenstein." (South Brunswick Post, 9/13/2007)
