The contest for New Jersey’s fifteen electoral votes has narrowed to a six-point lead for Barack Obama over John McCain, according to a new Fairleigh Dickinson University poll released this morning. Obama leads McCain 47%-41%. An August 13 Quinnipiac University poll had Obama ahead by ten points, 51%-41%.
“McCain and Palin dominated the news last week, so I would expect his numbers to peak,” said Peter Woolley, a professor of political science at Fairleigh Dickinson and director of the poll. “He shored up his support in New Jersey, and he needed to do that. But he did not cut into his opponent’s support.”The feud between Republican State Senator Gerald Cardinale and Democratic Bergen County Executive Dennis McNerney continues. Today, ... >

Obama in trouble in NJ?
A voters’ movement towards McCain/Palin ticket has began in NJ. Sen. Obama has completely ignored our state treating it as a cash cow. He did it literally, when he cashed over $4 mil. in one day at Bon Jovi’s place. The problem for Obama is that he has no clue what state NJ is. His message of rhetorical change does not reflect the reality on the ground when his major contributors are the very corrupt politicians and political bosses that voters despise. McCain/Palin have no such problem here in NJ. On the contrary, their reformist message resonates well with NJ independent voters.
Lets Hope
what you say is true!
NJ voters should be tired of all contant lies by polticans - Andrews for one and the over taxing - Corzine of our State. All of these problems at the hands of the Dems!
I think Palin will wow NJ because unlike Obama and Biden, she is not some elite running around lying about feeling our pain.
Bush plus Palin PERFECT TOGETHER!
Once the honeymoon wears thin on this lady and voters focus on this dog-eared economy and Palin's wacky policy statements are really introduced expect that the bloom will be off this rose. I wish people would stop talking about her family (who cares?!) and focus on how she's REALLY run Alaska (lots of Alaskans are coming forward and saying she hasn't been all that effective). Now the press is pitting the hockey moms against the soccer moms??? How stupid is this??? I wish I could afford equipment for either sport frankly. I, like so many other New Jerseyans, are over taxed and under paid and sick of Bush!

Over Taxed is the Presidents fault
Mom in Law, It's interesting to see you blaming Bush for overtaxing and being underpaid. You sound like the typical Democrat, staying in your sad situation waiting for the government to save you.
I, like so many other New Jerseyans, including yourself apparenlty, am sick of taxes because of the local politics at the municiple, county and state levels, all controlled, as it applies to me, by liberal democrats. The only break I get on taxes is at the Federal level.
Give me a break with the "blame bush" crap.

On his way to Bon Jovi's house...
Obama passed a group of picketing parents, demonstrating for Vaccination Choice, two doors down with nothing but a wave. Obama later issued a statement saying that he did not support vaccine choice to those fine folks.
I have watched with rapt amazement at the numbers of liberal leaning disability parents realizing that Obama is just one more politician in the pocket of the Big Pharma lobbyists who doesn't give a damn about the state with the highest autism rate in the nation and with more forced vaccinations on children than any other state in the country. At least Corzine stepped out and said "Hello" to the demonstrators before jabbing several pre-teen girls with garasil, in case they accidentally have sex at school. HPV is the leading cause of cervical cancer 11 year olds, you know!
Maybe that crazy conservative woman who opted not to abort a less than perfect baby, who has a nephew with autism... and who is running with the old guy who is willing to question the CDC on vaccine safety might be appealing to the parents of 1 out of every 60 boys diagnosed with autism in New Jersey after all.
Damn, it's just gotten soooo interesting!
Just a common link .....
Just as Obama has tried to link McCain to Bush ,it is so much easer to link Obama to Corzine ......and down goes Obama ! Down goes Obama !
