(UNION TWP.) - Assembly Education Committee Chairman Joseph Cryan today applauded Governor Jon Corzine's appointment of Kris Kolluri - currently state Department of Transportation commissioner - to take over as chief executive officer of the Schools Development Authority (SDA).

Cryan (D-Union) released the following statement:

"As transportation commissioner, Kris had proven himself as a multi-talented and effective manager who always keeps the public's interest at the forefront.

"Kris' honest and up-front demeanor has earned my respect and the respect of many of my colleagues.

"Under Kris, the SDA will have the strong leadership it needs to ensure that the billions we are investing will be spent wisely and that the work of building schools gets done and gets done the right way."
